Streaming & Recording Guide
Recommended OBS Settings for NVIDIA RTX 4070
For the best quality with minimal performance impact, we recommend the following settings in OBS Studio:
Best Encoder: NVENC AV1 / H.264
The RTX 40-series features the latest NVENC encoder with AV1 support. AV1 offers up to 40% better compression than H.264, meaning higher quality streams at the same bitrate. This is a game-changer for high-resolution streaming and recording.
Streaming: For YouTube, use AV1 with a bitrate of 10,000-12,000 Kbps for 1440p streaming. For Twitch, use H.264 at 8000 Kbps.
Recording: Use AV1 with CQP at a CQ Level of 18-22 for the best possible quality and smaller file sizes.
Preset: Set to "Quality". The dual encoders on the 40-series can handle this effortlessly.
AV1 Encoder Note: AV1 streaming is currently supported by YouTube. For other platforms like Twitch, you should still use the NVENC H.264 encoder for maximum compatibility.
